Police in New South Wales, Australia, detained a 47-year-old man following the discovery of a deceased woman and a man with stab wounds in Sydney’s northwest. The incident occurred in Quakers Hill, a suburb located approximately 40 km northwest of Sydney’s central business district, prompting emergency services to respond to reports of a disturbance. Upon arrival, authorities found the injured man outside the home and the deceased woman inside, who is yet to be formally identified.
The wounded man received immediate medical attention from NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene before being transported to a hospital in critical condition. Subsequently, the 47-year-old suspect was apprehended around 5:30 a.m. after presenting himself at a police station. In a separate incident in November, five teenagers were charged by NSW police after a worker at a convenience store in western Sydney was stabbed.
The 28-year-old male employee was reportedly attacked around 2:20 a.m. on November 20 while trying to prevent a group of teenagers from stealing items at a store in Burwood, located 10 km west of central Sydney. Following the incident, the worker received medical treatment at the scene before being hospitalized. As of November 21, he remained in critical but stable condition. All five teenagers involved were arrested, denied bail, and were scheduled to appear in a children’s court on November 21.
