The body of Sunny Singh, 34, was discovered hanging at his residence in south Kolkata. His family has accused his wife and her relatives of being involved in his death. Police found the body and sent it for a post-mortem examination, initiating an investigation into the matter.
Singh’s family members claim that he was murdered, specifically pointing fingers at his wife and brother-in-law. Singh resided in a rented house in the Sarshuna area with his wife, Punita Singh, and daughter Tanisha. Allegedly, daily arguments due to Singh’s drinking habit caused conflicts between the couple.
On the night of the incident, Singh reportedly had an argument with his wife and asked her and their daughter to leave the house. After police intervention, Punita and her daughter returned home. The following night, Singh was found hanging in the same house, with Punita discovering his body after climbing down from the balcony.
The police were informed, and upon arrival, they recovered Singh’s body. Post-mortem examination results revealed that Singh died from suffocation. Following a complaint filed by Singh’s sister against Punita and her brother, the police have launched an investigation into the alleged murder, with interrogations underway.
