A man involved in illegal soil excavation in Madhya Pradesh’s Shivpuri district threatened to shoot a Tehsildar during an anti-mining operation. The incident occurred in Sadbud village under Badarwas tehsil when a revenue team led by Tehsildar Sachin Bhargava tried to seize vehicles engaged in illegal excavation. The confrontation, captured in a viral video, took place on the banks of the Sindh River.
Police have initiated a case against three individuals and are conducting an investigation. The revenue team discovered the construction of a pathway to the riverbank for sand mining during their inspection. Soil was being excavated using a Hydra crane and transported via tractor-trolleys. When the team moved to seize the vehicles, the accused resisted, leading to the threat against the Tehsildar.
The accused, Jaymandal Yadav, allegedly threatened the Tehsildar and team members, as seen in the viral video. He warned the officer to stop, indicating he would shoot him and go to jail. Amid the altercation, the accused fled with the Hydra crane and one tractor-trolley. However, the revenue team managed to seize another tractor-trolley loaded with illegally excavated soil and handed it over to the Badarwas police.
Tehsildar Sachin Bhargava highlighted that the inspection revealed deep pits on government land due to illegal excavation. Despite the accused’s claim of ownership, the team found excavation on government land, leading to action by the revenue department. An FIR has been filed against the accused, and their criminal records are under scrutiny for further legal action based on the investigation, as confirmed by Badarwas police station in-charge Naveen Yadav.
