Manchester City’s midfielder Phil Foden has extended his contract with the club until 2030, committing to a new four-year deal. Foden, aged 26, decided to stay with the club under the leadership of new head coach Enzo Maresca, aiming for a fresh start after a season marked by inconsistency.
Expressing his joy, Foden stated, “Committing my future to City means everything to me. Playing for this club is all I’ve ever wanted to do, and it’s always an honor to wear the shirt.” He looks forward to working with Enzo again, highlighting the coach’s positive impact during the Treble season.
Having made his debut at 17 under Pep Guardiola, Foden has emerged as one of City’s top academy graduates, accumulating 369 appearances for the club. His achievements include six Premier League titles, a UEFA Champions League title, and two FA Cups. Foden will now reunite with Maresca, who took over as head coach after Guardiola’s departure.
Despite a challenging 2025-26 season with limited starts, Foden remains a key player for City, contributing seven goals and five assists in 33 league appearances. His standout performance in the previous season saw him score 27 goals and provide 12 assists across all competitions. Foden’s journey reflects his dedication to the club and his aspirations for continued success.
