Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh and Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma met in Imphal to enhance cooperation, development, and peace initiatives. The leaders exchanged views on mutual interests, emphasizing the importance of strengthening inter-state ties. Singh welcomed Sangma and discussed shared values for sustainable development.
Singh, in a social media post, expressed gratitude for Sangma’s visit and their discussions on promoting goodwill. The National People’s Party (NPP) delegation, led by Sangma, presented certain aspirations through a memorandum, aiming for inclusive growth. Sangma, also the NPP National President, praised the Manipur unit for their efforts towards development.
During the meeting, Manipur Minister Loken Khuraijam Singh, NPP Manipur President Lorho S. Pfoze, and party MLAs were present. The NPP, with six MLAs in Manipur, inaugurated their state office in Imphal ahead of their annual convention. Sangma highlighted the significance of the new office in strengthening the party’s organizational structure in Manipur.
Sangma emphasized unity and commitment to the NPP’s vision during his visit to Imphal. He commended party members for their dedication to serving the people of Manipur and discussed future priorities. The leaders’ discussions focused on promoting peace, progress, and prosperity in the state.
