Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh strongly denounced the recent ambush in Kangpokpi district where three civilians lost their lives and four others sustained injuries. The attack, labeled a “dastardly act of terror,” occurred when armed miscreants fired upon a group of civilians in the Kotlen and Kotzim areas. Three of the injured individuals were transferred to a hospital in Imphal for medical care.
Singh, along with Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho and Home Minister Konthoujam Govindas Singh, visited the hospitalized victims in Imphal West district to check on their well-being. He assured that the state government would cover all medical expenses for the injured and emphasized providing them with top-notch medical attention. The Chief Minister expressed deep concern over the violence, stating that such acts disrupt the state’s progress towards peace.
The Chief Minister condemned terrorism and violence against innocent civilians, emphasizing that such actions have no place in a civilized society. He highlighted the unity of the state against terrorism and reaffirmed the unwavering commitment to combat such acts. Singh extended condolences to the families of the deceased and urged the public to maintain peace, refrain from emotional reactions, and cease activities that escalate tensions.
