Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh acknowledged the challenging period the state has faced in the last three years, causing disruptions to people’s lives and livelihoods. He expressed optimism about the gradual return of peace, stability, and normalcy. The Chief Minister highlighted the financial and mental hardships endured by the populace due to the prolonged crisis.
The Chief Minister participated in a welfare scheme distribution event organized by the Manipur Social Welfare Department at the City Convention Centre in Imphal. The event, which saw benefits totaling Rs 91.66 crore being disbursed, aimed to alleviate the financial struggles of the people. Chief Minister Singh emphasized that various initiatives have been undertaken by the state government to provide assistance to those in need.
Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the guidance of Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, the government has focused on addressing the financial difficulties faced by the people. Chief Minister Singh expressed hope that the distribution of these benefits would offer some relief to the affected individuals. He stressed the importance of peace and hard work for the state’s development, urging all communities to unite as Manipuris for the betterment of the region.
During the event, Chief Secretary Puneet Kumar Goel highlighted the challenges faced by families in recent years, particularly vulnerable groups such as women, children, senior citizens, persons with disabilities, widows, and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs). He emphasized the collective responsibility to ensure that these groups receive the necessary care, protection, support, and opportunities. The event underscored the government’s commitment to inclusive development, social justice, and the welfare of all segments of society.
