Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh emphasized the government’s focus on the welfare of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) impacted by ethnic violence. During a visit to the Akampat Relief Camp in Imphal, he consoled the family of an eight-year-old girl who was found dead after going missing. Singh provided Rs 10 lakh ex-gratia to the bereaved family in the presence of the Deputy Commissioner of Imphal East, Nivedita Lairenlakpam.
Singh expressed his condolences to the grieving family, assuring them of support and justice. He reiterated the government’s commitment to assisting IDPs, highlighting the importance of their well-being. The Chief Minister also met with the parents and relatives of the deceased child, offering assistance and directing officials to address their concerns promptly.
In response to the tragic incident, Singh shared his sorrow and pledged to support the affected family during this challenging period. He instructed officials to take necessary actions to alleviate the hardships faced by IDPs and ensure effective rehabilitation efforts. The government remains dedicated to upholding the dignity, security, and future prospects of all affected families in the region.
