Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh emphasized the urgent need to disarm all firearms in the state to restore peace. In a meeting with a Tangkhul Naga tribal delegation, Singh stressed that peace is the only solution to the current crisis in Manipur.
He highlighted the government’s focus on creating job opportunities in non-government sectors through skill development for youth. Singh urged collective efforts from all communities to promote peace and harmony in the state. Responding to demands, he called for community leaders to guide youth away from violence towards reconciliation.
The Tangkhul Naga delegation requested the deployment of security personnel in their village due to escalating tensions. They also sought assistance for affected villagers and improvements in healthcare and infrastructure. The villagers expressed appreciation for security measures taken by the government in the region.
