Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh has encouraged Haj pilgrims from the state to pray for peace and harmony. He specifically wished well for the Meitei Pangal community members embarking on their journey to Madinah via Kolkata. Singh expressed his hope for the safe travel and good health of all pilgrims during this challenging time in Manipur, emphasizing the importance of seeking divine blessings for peace and stability in the state.
A total of 379 individuals from Manipur have been chosen for the Haj pilgrimage this year through the Manipur State Haj Committee. A significant number of pilgrims have already left for Kolkata, with the rest departing on Thursday. The send-off event, overseen by the Directorate of Minority Affairs, was graced by the presence of Tourism Minister Khuraijam Loken Singh, several MLAs, and other dignitaries, including the Director of Imphal International Airport.
Tourism Minister Loken Singh, in a heartfelt Facebook message, extended his wishes for a safe and spiritually fulfilling journey for the pilgrims. He described the occasion as a proud and emotional moment, highlighting the pilgrimage as a symbol of faith, devotion, and unity that carries the hopes and prayers of the people.
