Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh commended the Imphal-based Sainik School for its exceptional performance on a national scale. Accompanied by MLA L. Susindro Meitei, the Chief Minister visited the school campus in Imphal and engaged in discussions with the Principal, Col A. Rajiv, and senior officials.

During the meeting, the Principal outlined the school’s operational aspects and highlighted key challenges faced, such as deteriorating infrastructure, water supply issues, and pending construction projects like the girls’ hostel. Additionally, concerns regarding sound clarity in the Vikram Batra Auditorium were addressed.

The Principal also showcased the school’s recent accomplishments, emphasizing outstanding results in competitive exams and active participation of cadets in national-level events. Following the presentation, the Chief Minister assured that the raised issues would be addressed promptly by the relevant authorities.

CM Singh stressed the importance of prioritizing student welfare, stating that students are the foundation of society and must be given utmost consideration. He praised the school administration for upholding high standards despite limitations and recognized the institution’s role in nurturing disciplined and skilled youth.

During the visit, the Chief Minister conducted a thorough inspection of the campus to evaluate infrastructure needs and identify areas requiring construction, renovation, or repair. He interacted with the Alumni Association, staff, and students, encouraging them to excel in both academics and extracurricular activities.

The Chief Minister also met with student Memota Keisham, who had participated in an interaction with Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ event. He commended her achievements and confidence, noting that she was one of only 15 students selected from a vast pool of participants nationwide. Commissioner (Education) Ningthoujam Geoffrey, Squadron Leader Sachin Kumar, Senior Master SSI A. Rommel Singh, and other officials were also present during the visit.
