The Manipur government has transferred the investigation of two consecutive explosions in Bishnupur district, where two individuals were injured, to the National Investigation Agency (NIA). The explosions, caused by locally made Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), prompted senior police officials to visit the blast sites for assessment.
Combing and search operations have been ongoing in the surrounding areas to apprehend the culprits. Security measures have been heightened with additional forces deployed to prevent further violence. Efforts are underway to identify and capture those responsible for the blasts, as confirmed by an official.
Following the explosions, security forces conducted combing operations to apprehend the perpetrators. An angry crowd damaged a security bunker nearby, alleging security forces’ failure to prevent the blasts. Security forces, including Central and state agencies, are conducting extensive crackdowns against militants in various districts.
