The makers of the film ‘Mardaani 3’, featuring Rani Mukerji, have refuted claims of running a paid PR campaign related to missing people in Delhi. Delhi Police highlighted the use of paid promotions to hype the increase in missing girls, warning against such actions for profit. Yash Raj Films, responding to the accusations, emphasized their ethical foundation and trust in authorities to reveal the truth.

Earlier reports indicated 807 missing persons in Delhi this year, with an average of 54 cases daily, including 509 women/girls and 298 men. Among them, 191 were minors, and 616 were adults, with 235 individuals traced by the police. In 2025, more than 24,500 people went missing, with women constituting over 60% of cases, and over 9,000 cases unsolved by year-end.

Despite concerns, Delhi Police clarified that the rise in missing cases in 2026 is not significant compared to previous monthly averages of around 2,000 cases. They noted a relatively stable trend in missing persons cases over the years.
