Maruti Suzuki India Limited, the country’s largest car manufacturer, set a new record by producing over 22.55 lakh vehicles in 2025, marking its highest annual output to date. This milestone represents the second consecutive year that the company has surpassed the 20 lakh units mark in annual production, which includes vehicles for domestic sales, exports, and OEM supplies. The top five models in terms of production volume for the year were Fronx, Baleno, Swift, Dzire, and Ertiga.
“This achievement underscores the company’s commitment to meeting customer demand in both domestic and international markets,” stated Maruti Suzuki. Hisashi Takeuchi, the managing director and CEO of Maruti Suzuki, attributed this record production to the dedication of employees and the strong collaboration with supplier partners. He emphasized that local production capabilities and quality standards have played a crucial role in achieving this scale, showcasing India’s automotive manufacturing prowess on a global scale.
Maruti Suzuki also reported a significant growth in its exports, with 3.95 lakh vehicles shipped in 2025, marking a 21% increase compared to the previous year. Since its inception in 1983, Maruti Suzuki has expanded its manufacturing operations across multiple facilities in Haryana and Gujarat. The company now produces 17 models and over 650 variants across its advanced manufacturing plants. Looking ahead, Maruti Suzuki aims to boost its manufacturing capacity to 4 million units annually to cater to the growing domestic demand and international markets.
The company’s dominance in India’s car market remains strong, with a consistent market share of over 40% in the passenger vehicle segment. Maruti Suzuki’s success is attributed to its range of affordable and fuel-efficient models, with recent sales driven by festive season demand.
