Maruti Suzuki India Limited announced its highest-ever annual production volume of 23.4 lakh units in FY2025-26, becoming the sole original equipment maker (OEM) in India to reach this milestone in passenger vehicle production. The company, a part of Suzuki Motor Corporation, also stands out as the only one among Suzuki’s global automobile manufacturing facilities to achieve such a significant production volume. Maruti Suzuki India aims to further increase this volume to around 40 lakh units annually.
“This achievement is a moment of pride for us, as very few companies worldwide have managed to produce such large volumes in a single country. At Maruti Suzuki, our focus has always been on providing products and technologies that align with the changing needs and desires of our customers, thereby earning their trust over generations,” stated Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director and CEO of Maruti Suzuki India Limited.
The company highlighted that models like Dzire, Fronx, Swift, Ertiga, and Baleno were the top produced vehicles during the year, each surpassing the two lakh unit mark. Takeuchi emphasized the importance of the strong relationships with employees, vendors, and dealers, along with the supportive government policies like GST 2.0, which bolstered market confidence and drove demand, enabling the company to achieve this record production level.
Maruti Suzuki India currently operates four manufacturing facilities located in Gurugram, Manesar, Kharkhoda in Haryana, and Hansalpur in Gujarat, collectively having an annual capacity of 24 lakh units. In line with its expansion plans, the company has identified land for its fifth manufacturing facility at Khoraj Industrial Estate in Sanand, Gujarat, with a projected annual production capacity of 10 lakh units upon full operation.
