Maruti Suzuki India, the country’s largest carmaker, achieved its highest-ever April sales, with total sales reaching 2,39,646 units, a significant 33.29% increase from the previous year. Domestic sales also hit a record high of 1,91,122 units, surpassing the company’s previous peak.
The entry-level segment, including models like Alto and S-Presso, saw a remarkable surge in sales to 16,066 units, more than double the figures from the previous year. Additionally, the compact segment, featuring popular models such as Baleno and Swift, witnessed a strong performance with sales reaching 80,659 units.
Maruti Suzuki’s utility vehicle portfolio, which includes models like Brezza and Ertiga, continued to attract consumers, with sales climbing to 77,892 units. The company’s light commercial vehicle Super Carry also saw stable sales at 3,418 units. Moreover, exports played a significant role in the overall growth, rising to 40,054 units last month.
Earlier in the month, Maruti Suzuki achieved its highest-ever annual production volume of 23.4 lakh units in FY2025-26, becoming the only OEM in India to reach this milestone. The company aims to further increase its production volume to about 40 lakh units per annum.
