Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal mentioned the significant turnout in Guwahati for Himanta Biswa Sarma’s swearing-in ceremony and the new NDA government. He highlighted the enthusiastic participation of people from various parts of Assam at the event. Sonowal praised Sarma as a prominent leader for Assam and the nation, crediting the state’s progress to the BJP-led government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guidance.
The BJP-led NDA achieved a substantial victory in the recent Assam Assembly elections, leading to Sarma’s reappointment as Chief Minister. Sarma was sworn in for his second consecutive term, with Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya administering the oath in the presence of top political figures like Prime Minister Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Additionally, four Ministers, including Rameswar Teli and Atul Bora, were also sworn in during the ceremony.
The swearing-in event in Guwahati witnessed the presence of key leaders such as Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. Notable personalities from various sectors, religious leaders, and industrialists, including 15 Satradhikars from Assam’s Vaishnavite monasteries, graced the occasion with their attendance.
