A fire engulfed the popular ‘Levee Bar and Restaurant’ at Karamtoli Chowk in Ranchi early Tuesday, causing extensive damage. The incident occurred around 5 A.M., with thick black smoke and towering flames causing panic among locals and passersby. The intensity of the fire drew crowds to the area as it could be seen from a distance.
Eyewitnesses reported smoke emanating from the building, prompting residents to alert the police and fire department. Multiple fire tenders arrived quickly and initiated a significant firefighting operation to control the blaze. The firefighters worked tirelessly to bring the fire under control after an extended battle.
Officials stated that the fire ravaged the restaurant’s interior, destroying valuable furniture, decorative items, kitchen appliances, and electrical equipment. The extreme heat from the flames also caused damage to parts of the building structure. Fortunately, no casualties were reported as the restaurant was unoccupied during the incident, averting a potential tragedy in the densely populated area.
Preliminary investigations suggest a possible short circuit as the cause of the fire. However, authorities mentioned that the exact reason would be confirmed post forensic and technical examinations. Teams from the local police and fire department assessed the damage, with the restaurant owner expressing significant financial losses due to the incident.
