Mauritian President Dharambeer Gokhool visited the Panakala Narasimha Swamy Temple in Mangalagiri during his five-day trip to Andhra Pradesh. He received a warm welcome from the temple officials upon his arrival. Gokhool also attended the World Telugu Conference in Guntur on Sunday.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is scheduled to meet with President Gokhool during his visit. The Mauritian President’s itinerary includes visits to Tirupati, Tirumala, and the Sri Venkateswara Temple. He will also explore other temples in Srikalahasti.
During the World Telugu Conference, Gokhool emphasized the cultural and spiritual significance of the Telugu language. He praised the conference for uniting the global Telugu community and highlighted the language’s growing global presence. Telugu is now spoken in more than 50 countries worldwide.
Gokhool commended the Telugu community in Mauritius for its contributions to the nation’s development and its efforts to teach Telugu at various educational levels. He underscored the cultural ties between India and Mauritius, emphasizing their shared history and values. The President noted the strengthening of bilateral relations through high-level visits between the two nations.
Highlighting the role of language and heritage in fostering strong ties, Gokhool expressed his belief that India’s linguistic diversity resonates with Mauritius’ multicultural ethos. He emphasized the importance of cultural connections in enhancing diplomatic relations between the two countries.
