The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) strongly rebuked Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari’s remarks regarding the demolition of religious sites in India. The MEA spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, emphasized that Zardari lacks the authority to comment on India’s internal affairs. This response came after Zardari’s comments on the demolition issue were made public.
The MEA criticized Pakistan’s President for his comments, citing Pakistan’s poor human rights record and history of targeting minorities of various faiths. The MEA labeled Zardari’s remarks as a political attack fueled by Pakistan’s policies of intolerance and animosity. India firmly rejected Pakistan’s allegations and reiterated its stance on Jammu and Kashmir during the 62nd session of the Human Rights Council.
Anupama Singh, First Secretary at the Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations, denounced Pakistan’s support for terrorism while portraying itself as a victim. Singh highlighted Pakistan’s contradictory stance of promoting terrorism as a state policy while claiming victimhood. She criticized Pakistan for its double standards and referred to it as a “Frankenstein state” that nurtures terrorism but feigns innocence.
