Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma reiterated the government’s dedication to promoting fair development in all districts by backing locally identified priorities. He highlighted the significance of the CM’s Special Development Fund (CMSDF) in promptly addressing community needs and enhancing the quality of life through targeted projects. Sangma stressed the fund’s role in supporting initiatives that directly benefit the populace and complement broader development schemes.
The Chief Minister urged beneficiaries and implementing bodies to ensure efficient execution of sanctioned projects within set timelines. The financial aid from the CMSDF has been channeled into various community institutions, educational facilities, sports organizations, and local bodies across Meghalaya. Projects encompass infrastructure development, public service enhancements, and the provision of essential facilities like school buildings, multipurpose halls, and sanitation amenities.
Beneficiaries such as community clubs, schools, and sports associations have received support for constructing classrooms, community halls, and office buildings. Additionally, initiatives include the setup of sanitation facilities, sports equipment procurement, and infrastructure improvements like basketball courts and drinking water facilities. Sangma emphasized the government’s commitment to balanced regional progress through locally identified projects that strengthen grassroots institutions and improve service accessibility.
The program, attended by beneficiaries, elected representatives, and community leaders, aimed to acknowledge the state government’s backing for initiatives enhancing public infrastructure and community institutions in Meghalaya.
