Mexico to Kick Off FIFA World Cup 2026 Against South Africa

The FIFA World Cup 2026 begins with Mexico hosting the opening match against South Africa at the Mexico City Stadium. This match marks a reversal of the 2010 tournament’s opening game when South Africa was the host nation. South Africa earned their spot in the World Cup by topping Group C in CAF qualifying.
