More than 100 military veterans from the Northeast took part in an entrepreneurship workshop in Guwahati to gain skills for starting businesses post-retirement. The workshop, organized by the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, aimed to help veterans transition from military service to entrepreneurship for regional economic growth. Sessions covered topics like business planning, financial management, and accessing government schemes to promote entrepreneurship.

Air Vice Marshal Sanjib Bordoloi, AVSM (Retd), highlighted that military veterans possess qualities like leadership and problem-solving skills essential for entrepreneurship. He encouraged them to use these strengths to create sustainable enterprises and contribute to local economic development. Officials from organizations like SIDBI and NSIC provided information on support available for ex-servicemen looking to become entrepreneurs.

The workshop also featured discussions with successful entrepreneurs and industry experts, offering practical insights on managing businesses in today’s competitive landscape. Participants actively engaged in seeking guidance on business opportunities and appreciated the program’s practical approach. The event showcased the growing interest among retired defense personnel in entrepreneurship as a post-service career choice.
