The Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, criticized the Telangana Congress government for allegedly shielding the Barrister Fatima Owaisi Educational Campus, claimed to be built in a Hyderabad lake. Sanjay accused the government of being quick to demolish poor people’s homes under HYDRAA but turning a blind eye to the purported encroachment by AIMIM leaders. He highlighted the visibility of the college on the lake and urged the Congress to address the issue.
Sanjay’s remarks came after the state government informed the High Court that the educational campus was not within the Full Tank Level (FTL) of Salkam Cheruvu, based on a joint survey. The government’s stance in a public interest litigation (PIL) concerning encroachments around the lake faced criticism from various quarters. TRS leader K. Kavitha also slammed the government for allegedly protecting Owaisi’s educational institutions.
Meanwhile, AIMIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi vowed to continue building educational facilities, stating that he would construct ten if one was demolished. He emphasized his commitment to providing free education to the underprivileged, despite facing pressure and targeting of his educational institutions. Akbaruddin’s defiance followed the Telangana High Court granting authorities a week to present relevant records regarding the campus allegedly constructed within the lake area.
