Minister of State for Home Affairs, Nityanand Rai, refuted allegations by Independent MP Pappu Yadav about the creation of a new Union Territory merging Bihar and West Bengal districts. Rai clarified that the Central government has no such plan and labeled Yadav’s statements as baseless rumors to mislead the public.

Responding to Yadav’s social media post, Rai emphasized the lack of truth in the claims and urged people not to be swayed by misinformation. Yadav had alleged that the BJP intended to impose President’s Rule in West Bengal and establish a new Union Territory encompassing Bihar’s Seemanchal region and various West Bengal districts.

MoS Nityanand Rai dismissed Yadav’s accusations, stating they lack credibility and are designed to sow confusion. The exchange between the two politicians has heightened political tensions in Bihar and West Bengal, adding a new layer to the already charged atmosphere.
