On the eve of the 12th International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2026, Minister of State for Ayush and Health and Family Welfare Prataprao Jadhav urged citizens to participate in the celebrations led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This year, the Ministry of Culture is organizing special IDY 2026 events at 100 iconic locations across India. The main event on June 21 will take place at the historic Red Road in Kolkata under PM Modi’s leadership, where the nation will unite to practice the Common Yoga Protocol.
Special IDY celebrations are also planned in Delhi at various public locations to bring yoga closer to the people. Citizens can join yoga sessions at designated venues in the National Capital Region, including parks, sports complexes, heritage sites, and community spaces like Kartavya Path, Lawn of Shantipath, Baansera, Sarai Kale Khan, Yamuna Sports Complex, Lodhi Garden, and Red Fort. The Ministry of Ayush is encouraging individuals, organizations, institutions, and communities to participate in the International Day of Yoga celebrations, emphasizing the importance of practicing yoga together for health, harmony, and well-being.
