Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions, Dr Jitendra Singh, highlighted the Central government’s focus on employees, including the decision to transition around 65,000 former Ordnance Factory workers into regular government roles after restructuring the Ordnance Factory Board. He assured a consultative approach under PM Modi in addressing employee and pensioner concerns, welcoming suggestions for better governance and administrative efficiency.
Dr Singh praised PM Modi’s efforts to enhance transparency and citizen-centric governance through administrative reforms. He stressed the importance of ongoing dialogue with employee groups to address practical issues and formulate suitable policy responses in the public interest. The minister commended employee organizations for their role in raising service-related matters for government consideration through constructive engagement.
Acknowledging the Empowered Group of Ministers’ support for extending deemed deputation of former Ordnance Factory employees until retirement, the delegation expressed gratitude for the decision to integrate these workers into regular government service, ensuring long-term job security. Discussions also covered various service-related issues like the Old Pension Scheme, career progression, and stakeholder consultations on government employee concerns, emphasizing the need for simplified administrative processes to expedite issue resolution and reduce legal disputes.
