Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions, Jitendra Singh, is set to inaugurate the 58th Pre-Retirement Counselling Workshop (PRC) in Guwahati on Monday. Around 350 retirees from Assam, due for retirement in the next year, are expected to benefit from this workshop, aimed at educating government employees on retirement matters.
The workshop, organized by the Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare in collaboration with various Central government departments and Ministries, will take place at the Administrative Staff College in Guwahati. This initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to improve the “Ease of Living” for pensioners and family pensioners.
In addition to other pension-related initiatives, the workshop will cover topics such as retirement benefits, Central Government Health Scheme, Cyber Security, investment options, BHAVISHYA portal, Family Pension, and Digital Life Certificate. It will also include sessions on Centralised Pension Grievance Redress and Monitoring System, ANUBHAV Portal, and an Exhibition of Pension Disbursing Banks.
The Department is also conducting a Bankers’ Awareness Programme in partnership with the State Bank of India to educate pension disbursing banks on relevant rules and procedures for Central government employees. The workshops aim to raise awareness among retirees on pension-related banking services and assist them in choosing suitable investment schemes for their pension corpus.
