Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh recently planted a Pyrus calleryana sapling at Plaza de la India in Santiago, Chile. This initiative is part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign. Singh also emphasized the global significance of Mission LiFE during this event.
Singh also paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at the Plaza de la India in Santiago. Reflecting on Gandhi’s principles of truth and non-violence, Singh highlighted the enduring inspiration that Gandhi’s legacy provides worldwide.
During the inauguration of Chile’s new President Jose Antonio Kast Rist in Valparaiso, Singh represented the Government of India. He expressed India’s dedication to enhancing collaboration with Chile for mutual prosperity and global cooperation. Singh conveyed well wishes from President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his meeting with Rist, reaffirming India’s commitment to a strong partnership with Chile across various sectors.
In addition, Singh met with Chile’s former President Gabriel Boric Font. Both sides discussed enhancing cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, health, pharmaceuticals, traditional medicines, and technology. They also explored opportunities to diversify bilateral relations in modern fields like digital infrastructure, innovation, and sustainable energy.
