A minor girl from Dinhata in Cooch Behar district of West Bengal, near the India-Bangladesh border, was rescued from a spa center in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The rescue operation was a joint effort by the West Bengal and Rajasthan Police, supported by the Association for Voluntary Action (AVA) and Kosi Lok Manch. An investigation has been initiated to dismantle the trafficking network and apprehend the perpetrators.
The girl, who had been reported missing by her parents on June 18, was traced to Jaipur through her mobile phone. The West Bengal Police sought help from Kosi Lok Manch, which collaborated with AVA in Rajasthan to facilitate the rescue operation. Despite challenges in locating the victim, she was finally rescued from a spa center in Jaipur’s Jalupura police station area.
According to the police, the minor girl, who had been promised a job by an acquaintance in Dinhata, was forced to work at the spa center upon her arrival in Jaipur. The accused perpetrator, identified as Karan, allegedly exploited her under the guise of employment. The girl’s mother has accused Karan of sexually exploiting her daughter. The rescued minor is expected to return to West Bengal soon.
