Australia’s Mitchell Starc achieved a significant milestone in his Test cricket career by matching Rangana Herath’s record for the most wickets taken by a left-arm bowler, totaling 433 wickets in 105 matches. Starc’s exceptional performance in the recent Ashes series, where he claimed 31 wickets and received the Player of the Series award, highlighted his prowess on the field. Despite his pace partners’ absence, Starc’s remarkable contributions in key matches earned him accolades and recognition.

Making his Test debut in 2011, Starc has been a consistent performer, nearing the record set by Kapil Dev with 433 wickets, just one short of the legendary Indian cricketer. His outstanding year in 2025, marked by 55 wickets in 11 Tests, showcased his dominance in the red-ball format. Opting to retire from T20 Internationals to focus on Test cricket, Starc remains committed to playing in leagues like the IPL and BBL, with plans to join the Delhi Capitals in IPL 2026.
