Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma announced the state government’s commitment to modernizing Mizoram into a digital state. This transformation aims to enhance public service accessibility, efficiency, and convenience for citizens. The launch of the Government Quarters Allotment Management System (QAMS) and the Mizoram House Online Reservation System signifies the government’s dedication to this digital transition.
These systems, overseen by the General Administration Department (GAD), focus on digitizing the government quarters allotment process and reservations for Mizoram Houses in various cities. Previously, applications for government quarters were processed manually, leading to inefficiencies and time-consuming procedures. The new online system eliminates the need for physical visits to government offices, streamlining the entire process through online platforms.
Chief Minister Lalduhoma highlighted that the online systems would not only benefit applicants but also reduce the workload of officials managing these processes. The Mizoram House Online Reservation System, in particular, will enable individuals to make reservations online without the need for physical visits to offices, catering to residents outside Aizawl. The QAMS, developed by the ICT Department since August last year, is now fully operational, marking a significant step towards digital governance in Mizoram.
Addressing the Mizoram Fish Farmers’ Meet, Lalduhoma emphasized the state’s potential for fish farming and the need for modernization in the sector. With only a fraction of suitable land currently utilized for fish ponds, there is immense scope for expansion. The Chief Minister stressed the importance of adopting modern technologies and best practices in fish farming to enhance productivity and profitability.
