DMK President MK Stalin criticized Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay for his recent trip to New Delhi, pointing out what he sees as a shift in Vijay’s behavior towards political opponents. Stalin highlighted past accusations made by Vijay when Stalin visited Delhi during his tenure as Chief Minister, alleging that Vijay had accused him of evading scrutiny in Enforcement Directorate cases and of having ties with the BJP.
Stalin, questioning Vijay’s motives for the Delhi visit, asked if it was to avoid the Karur CBI case and if fear of upsetting the BJP influenced his actions. Stalin emphasized the inconsistency in Vijay’s political stance, noting similarities between current allegations against Vijay and past accusations directed at the DMK leadership.
While criticizing Vijay’s actions, Stalin refrained from resorting to personal attacks, emphasizing the importance of maintaining decorum in political discourse. He defended the necessity for Chief Ministers to attend official events in the national capital as part of their duties, urging against politicizing such engagements.
The exchange of criticisms between the TVK-led government and the DMK has intensified, with both sides exchanging barbs over their relationships with the BJP and the central government.
