Gujarat Titans’ bowler Mohammed Siraj reached a significant milestone in his career during an Indian Premier League (IPL) match against Kolkata Knight Riders. Siraj claimed his 200th wicket in T20 cricket by dismissing KKR skipper Ajinkya Rahane, becoming the 21st Indian bowler to achieve this feat. The experienced pacer achieved this milestone in his 174th T20 appearance, showcasing his prowess as one of India’s top fast bowlers across formats.
Siraj’s crucial wicket came in the fifth over of the innings with a well-directed inswinging delivery that dismantled Rahane’s defense. This wicket not only marked his 200th in T20 cricket but also highlighted his dominance over Rahane in the IPL, having dismissed him thrice. With an average above 25 and an economy rate slightly over eight runs per over, Siraj has also secured six four-wicket hauls in T20 cricket.
In the match, Kolkata Knight Riders posted a formidable total of 247/2 in 20 overs against the Gujarat Titans. Finn Allen’s explosive 93, Angkrish Raghuvanshi’s unbeaten 82, and Cameron Green’s rapid half-century powered KKR to this imposing total. Allen’s aggressive innings, complemented by Raghuvanshi’s composed knock and Green’s support, led to a challenging target for the Titans.
