The Central Board of Film Certification has approved the release of director Jeethu Joseph’s much-anticipated Malayalam film ‘Drishyam 3’, starring Mohanlal, with a U/A 13+ certificate. The film is set to hit cinemas worldwide on May 21, 2026. Excitement has surged following the teaser release, which includes recaps from the previous installments.
In the teaser, the first part’s recap is narrated by George Kutty (played by Mohanlal), while the second part’s recap is from the perspective of the police. George Kutty expresses concerns about protecting his family from a threat that could destroy them. The upcoming installment hints at a more vulnerable George Kutty facing new challenges.
Originally scheduled for April 2, the film’s release was postponed due to ongoing tensions in the gulf region. Mohanlal had finished filming his parts in December last year, celebrating the occasion with the crew. ‘Drishyam 3’ delves into the next chapter of Georgekutty’s life, exploring his journey after four-and-a-half years.
Producer Antony Perumbavoor emphasized the decision to proceed with the third installment after the success of the previous films. The Drishyam series, known for its compelling narratives and Mohanlal’s stellar performance, has garnered a dedicated following in Indian cinema.
