Navi Mumbai witnessed the Mumbai Indians’ lineup change post the WPL 2026 auction, with G. Kamalini and Amelia Kerr opening the batting against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Coach Lisa Keightley praised Kamalini, calling her a ‘fantastic player.’

Kamalini, at 16 years and 213 days, became the youngest player in WPL history during the 2025 season, showcasing her skills with a well-timed boundary in her debut match. In the recent game, she scored 32 runs off 28 balls, forming key partnerships with Kerr, Sciver, and Kaur.

Coach Keightley commended Kamalini’s talent, foreseeing a promising tournament for her. She highlighted Kamalini’s solid gameplay against spin and seam, emphasizing her potential to excel against top bowlers in the competition.

Mumbai Indians faced a defeat against RCB in their opener, setting the stage for a challenging match against Delhi Capitals at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.
