Mumbai’s 15-year-old Kiaan Shah from Rayo Racing achieved his best result in International Karting by securing second place in Round 2 of the RMC Asia Trophy held in Pattaya, Thailand. Kiaan impressed with a strong qualifying performance, finishing just 0.118 seconds behind the fastest racer, Thailand’s Pannu Stienmonkong.
In the heats, Kiaan faced ups and downs, starting from fourth position in Heat 2 and ultimately finishing second behind Thailand’s Toby Gale after overtaking several competitors. Despite a setback in Heat 3 due to an engine issue, Kiaan’s quick thinking and repair efforts showcased his determination.
During the Super Heat, Kiaan’s skillful driving led him to a second-place finish despite challenges like adverse weather conditions and on-track incidents. His consistent performance across all heats secured him a starting position in the Final race, where he showcased remarkable driving skills and finished second overall.
Reflecting on his performance, Kiaan expressed his satisfaction with his driving and credited his team for their support and excellent kart preparation. Coach Rayomand Banajee praised Kiaan’s progress and competitiveness at the event, highlighting his improved qualifying pace and overall performance.
