The embezzlement controversy in Ayodhya took a new turn as a Muslim cleric urged for an investigation into alleged irregularities within the Waqf Boards. This call for scrutiny, akin to the Ram Temple probe, has garnered support from various quarters, including saints and seers in Ayodhya.
Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi Barelvi, the President of All India Muslim Jamaat, raised concerns about a significant scam within the Sunni and Shia Waqf Boards. He has petitioned Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for a thorough inquiry into these purported irregularities, suggesting that the scale of the alleged scam could surpass that of the Ram Mandir issue.
In response, Ayodhya’s saint Vishnu Das Maharaj backed the call for an impartial investigation into the Waqf Board’s operations, highlighting past irregularities during the Samajwadi Party’s governance. Stressing the importance of transparency in managing Waqf properties, he expressed confidence that an approved investigation would rectify any wrongdoings and hold the accountable parties responsible.
Sitaram Das Maharaj, another prominent seer in Ayodhya, echoed support for Barelvi’s stance and advocated for a comprehensive inquiry into the reported scams within the Waqf Board. He emphasized the necessity of transparency in managing religious properties, emphasizing the need for stringent action against any misuse or irregularities to prevent future misconduct.
