Veteran actress Nafisa Ali recently shared a health update, revealing a long surgical scar on her abdomen, which she referred to as the “great wall.” The scar, visible after eight years, signifies her ongoing battle with cancer. Posting on Instagram, Nafisa displayed a close-up image of her abdomen showing a vertical surgical incision stitched with staples.
Nafisa, known for her roles in various films, including “Major Saab” and “Life In A… Metro,” was diagnosed with stage 3 peritoneal and ovarian cancer in 2018. Despite her health challenges, she expressed feeling stronger in her fight against the disease. The actress-politician, who began her acting career in 1979 with the film “Junoon,” has been actively involved in politics as well.
In her political journey, Nafisa contested in the Lok Sabha elections from different constituencies, including South Kolkata and Lucknow. Over the years, she has been associated with various political parties, such as the Samajwadi Party, the Indian National Congress, and most recently, the All India Trinamool Congress. Nafisa, aged 69, has shown resilience both in her professional and personal life, as evident from her recent film appearance in “Uunchai.”
