The inauguration of 16 sports infrastructure projects under the Youth Resources and Sports Department signifies a significant step towards this vision. These projects aim to provide fresh opportunities for youth and athletes in Nagaland, with a virtual presence of dignitaries like Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya and Deputy Chief Minister Yanthungo Patton.
The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of sports, highlighting its transformation from mere recreation to a thriving industry that offers employment and contributes to societal development. By promoting a robust sporting culture, improving coaching standards, and offering more exposure to athletes, Nagaland aims to nurture talent, enhance competitiveness, and secure a brighter future for its youth. The newly inaugurated facilities, a mix of Khelo India and state-funded projects, include multipurpose halls, indoor sports facilities, futsal grounds, and administrative infrastructure across various districts, enhancing access to modern sports amenities.
