The Nagaland government aims to enhance cooperation with Tripura to promote innovative clean energy solutions for sustainable development in the Northeastern region. A delegation from Nagaland’s Department of New and Renewable Energy visited Tripura to learn from the state’s successful renewable energy programs, focusing on the PM-KUSUM scheme.
During the visit, Adviser Picto Shohe from Nagaland’s Department of New and Renewable Energy met with Tripura Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation in the renewable energy sector. The delegation commended Tripura’s efforts in promoting renewable energy, especially in areas like sustainable irrigation, rural electrification, and community infrastructure.
Tripura Minister Nath highlighted the importance of such engagements in fostering collaboration among Northeastern states for a greener and more prosperous future. The delegation inspected various renewable energy installations in Tripura, including solar water pumping systems, solar power plants, and community solar water purification plants.
The discussions during the visit centered on project implementation, policy initiatives, and opportunities for inter-state collaboration in the renewable energy sector. The delegation also explored potential collaboration with Tripura University for renewable energy awareness, research, and capacity-building programs in the region.
