Namita Thapar, a judge on Shark Tank India and Executive Director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals, addressed online criticism she received for her comments on the health benefits of namaz. Thapar, along with her mother, faced abusive remarks on social media, leading her to speak out against what she called selective outrage. She highlighted that her previous remarks on Surya Namaskar did not provoke a similar response.
Thapar, identifying herself as a healthcare professional and a ‘proud Hindu’, stressed the importance of respect in religion, especially towards women. She urged people to stand against disrespect and emphasized the need to speak out. Thapar advised trolls to be cautious about their actions, hinting at the concept of karma.
In a morning video message, Thapar expressed her belief that silence is not virtuous and encouraged individuals to raise their voices against violations of human rights. Despite enduring trolling over the years, she aimed to inspire others to speak up against injustices for the sake of humanity and patriotism.
