Narcotic substances and liquor valued at Rs 16.51 lakh were confiscated from a residential flat in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Crime and Railways conducted the operation, leading to the apprehension of one individual. The raid took place at Aarohi Viviana apartments in Bopal locality based on specific intelligence inputs.
Acting under senior officers’ supervision, the ANTF’s Ahmedabad Zone team raided the flat and found the accused in possession of drugs suspected for distribution. The search yielded 102.59 grams of methamphetamine, 46.64 grams of hybrid marijuana, and 8.88 grams of cocaine. Additionally, six bottles of Indian-made foreign liquor, 24 beer tins, and four mobile phones were seized from the premises.
The total worth of the seized contraband and items is estimated at Rs 18.01 lakh, as confirmed by the police. The arrested individual, Nishant Solanki (42), a resident of the same apartment and originally from Rajkot, was found with the substances during the raid. Four other individuals, named Rick, Sandra, Ghost, and Ajay Patel, are also involved in the case and are currently on the run. Efforts are ongoing to locate them.
A case has been filed under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, and relevant sections of the Prohibition Act. An official mentioned that the operation was based on credible inputs, and the accused was in possession of multiple narcotic substances. The Bopal Police Station in Ahmedabad Rural has taken over the investigation to trace the source of the drugs and any potential wider network associated with the case.
This seizure is part of a broader crackdown on narcotics and illicit liquor in Gujarat. In a separate incident in March, authorities seized over 0.7 kg of hybrid ganja worth more than Rs 26 lakh from a flat in GIFT City, Gandhinagar, leading to an arrest. Earlier reports to the State Assembly indicated significant seizures in Ahmedabad and Surat, with a large number of arrests made in connection with liquor and drug-related offenses.
