The National Front of Indian Trade Unions (NFITU) has rejected the Bharat Bandh, a nationwide strike organized by various trade unions and farmer groups to protest what they perceive as anti-worker and pro-corporate policies. The strike, supported by central trade unions, farmers’ organizations, and student and youth groups, aims to highlight concerns about labor codes, proposed bills, free trade agreements, and social security issues.

NFITU chief Deepak Jaiswal criticized the political motives behind the strike, questioning the intentions of Congress and Left parties supporting it. He emphasized the need for dialogue with the government to address the demands raised by the protesting organizations. Jaiswal also highlighted the government’s efforts to enhance social security coverage and criticized the timing of the protests, alleging political opportunism by the opposition.

Questioning the opposition’s stance on labor reforms, Jaiswal praised Union Labour Minister Mansukh Mandaviya for engaging with trade unions and addressing their concerns in the new labor codes. NFITU General Secretary Virat Jaiswal echoed similar sentiments, supporting the government’s reforms and accusing opposition parties of using workers for political gains.
