The National Ranking Archery Tournament, organized by the Archery Association of India (AAI), wrapped up at Sacred Heart College in Ernakulam, Kerala. Dhiraj Bommadevara from SSCB clinched the top spot in Senior Recurve Men, with Rahul (SSCB) and Mayank Kumar (Haryana) following closely behind. In the recurve women’s event, Ankita Bhakat (Jharkhand) secured the first position, with Simranjeet Kaur (Punjab) and Deepika Kumari (PSPB) taking the subsequent ranks.
The Senior Compound Men’s category witnessed Thirumuru Ganesh Mani Ratnam (Andhra Pradesh) emerging victorious, with Rishabh Yadav (Haryana) and Kunderu Venkatadri (SSCB) completing the podium. Avneet Kaur (Punjab) claimed the top spot in Senior Compound Women, trailed by Aditi Gopichand Swami (Maharashtra) and Maya Bishnoi (RSPB). Noteworthy performances in the junior categories included Navneet (Haryana) in Junior Recurve Men, Pragati Bhagat Shinde (Maharashtra) in Sub-Junior Recurve Girls, and Thirumuru Ganesh Mani Ratnam (Andhra Pradesh) in Junior Compound Men.
The tournament, held from February 10 to February 19, 2026, plays a significant role in AAI’s national ranking structure. It is a crucial phase that influences national standings and bolsters the competitive landscape of Indian archery. Kochi’s successful hosting of the event signifies a milestone in promoting archery in Kerala, attracting both elite athletes and aspiring talents from the region.
Arjun Munda, President of AAI, emphasized the importance of the tournament in enhancing Indian archery’s competitive structure and nurturing talent nationwide. Virendra Sachdeva, Secretary General of AAI, highlighted the convergence of experience and emerging talent at the National Ranking Tournament, which elevates the competition’s standard and unity in Indian archery. The competition featured top state units and institutional teams, showcasing the depth of talent and technical excellence in Indian archery.
