The National SC-ST Hub scheme is aiding entrepreneurs from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in overcoming obstacles related to markets, finance, and technology. This initiative aims to provide access to broader opportunities, especially in government procurement. The Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises highlighted that the scheme is fostering long-term growth, resilience, and visibility for SC or ST entrepreneurs, enabling them to actively contribute to the nation’s economic advancement.
The scheme’s primary focus lies on capacity-building efforts, including financial management, tender participation, pricing strategies, and regulatory comprehension. Through structured mentorship, industry insights, and targeted business support, the Business Accelerator Program under this scheme is assisting entrepreneurs in tackling crucial challenges in business strategy, pricing, operational efficiency, and market positioning.
An illustration provided by the ministry showcased how an operator of Safety & Security Engineering from West Bengal revamped pricing strategies through a Business Accelerator Program at IIM Sambalpur, leading to the successful procurement of tenders valued at Rs. 8.48 lakh from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited. Similarly, a founder of Renergy Solution Pvt. Ltd. in Assam has established a presence in the public procurement sector, actively securing opportunities for solar installations in government institutions.
Recognizing the necessity to fortify strategic direction and formalize business processes for sustained growth, the firm from Assam enhanced its processes and procurement engagement through the Business Accelerator Program. This effort improved the firm’s preparedness for government contracts. Sawalaram Enterprises from Nashik also achieved success by winning a tender worth Rs. 5.10 lakh from the Steel Authority of India Limited after participating in the Business Accelerator Program at IIM Shillong.
The Ministry emphasized that these enterprises exemplify how targeted support can help unlock potential across various sectors and regions, facilitating the overcoming of barriers to scaling up operations and engaging in mainstream economic activities. The National SC-ST Hub Scheme is instrumental in strengthening individual enterprises and reshaping inclusivity into tangible economic progress through capacity building, guided assistance, and strategic interventions, aligning with India’s vision for a developed nation by 2047.
