Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui shared his insights on returning to his role in “Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders.” He described the experience as a journey of growth, emphasizing the changes in his character, Jatil, over time. Despite evolving, Jatil maintains his commitment to the truth and his sharp investigative skills.
Siddiqui highlighted the internal depth required to portray Jatil, a character who conceals his emotions beneath the surface, especially as a small-town cop facing authority. He expressed the personal and demanding nature of reprising the role after a significant period, delving into both his own past and the character’s evolution.
The actor praised director Honey Trehan for his sensitive understanding of the film’s world and precise direction, noting the effective use of silence and tension-building techniques. “Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders” premiered at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) and was later released globally on Netflix.
