A National Conference (NC) MLA in Jammu and Kashmir has accused Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary of betraying Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s trust. The MLA, Javaid Iqbal Choudhary, criticized Choudhary for collaborating with NC’s rivals instead of addressing fund allocation issues as directed by Abdullah. Choudhary’s actions were described as dictatorial and authoritarian by Budhal Javid Choudhary.
Budhal Javid Choudhary further stated that the Deputy CM failed to rectify mistakes in fund allocation and instead allied with rivals to retaliate against criticism. Allegations were made that Choudhary disproportionately directed funds to his constituency, Nowshera, neglecting other areas in Rajouri district. Specific figures regarding fund allocations were highlighted to support these claims.
Moreover, it was revealed that projects worth Rs 200 crore under the UT Capex Budget were approved for 2025–26, with a significant portion allocated to Choudhary’s constituency. The unequal distribution of funds, especially in bridge construction, raised concerns among NC members. Another NC MLA from the Valley reportedly criticized the Deputy CM for alleged victimization of a government official associated with the MLA during a meeting with Omar Abdullah.
