The NCP unveiled a video featuring late Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, recorded during the Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti election campaign in Maharashtra. The video, lasting one minute and 28 seconds, was filmed at his residence in Devagiri just four days before his tragic demise on January 28 in a plane crash. In the video, Ajit Pawar urged voters to support the Nationalist Congress Party, highlighting key issues like rural development, farmers’ welfare, and youth employment.
Ajit Pawar stressed the importance of rural development and the role of Zilla Parishads in addressing fundamental needs such as water, roads, health, and education. He emphasized the NCP’s commitment to rural areas, promising to introduce modern technology and digital tools for various sectors. Pawar urged voters to back NCP candidates for clean governance and assured that development funds would not be misused.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra NCP chief Sunil Tatkare raised questions about the merger talks between different NCP factions, indirectly criticizing the party’s leadership. Tatkare clarified that decisions regarding the party’s national president position would be made after consulting party members. He also demanded a thorough investigation into Ajit Pawar’s plane crash, urging for transparency and truth in the inquiry process.
