National Democratic Alliance (NDA) leaders strongly criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and its leader Arvind Kejriwal following Rajya Sabha MP Harbhajan Singh’s accusation of “seat selling.” The controversy arose when Singh hinted at revealing instances of alleged sale of Punjab Rajya Sabha seats by the AAP. In response, Shiv Sena’s Sanjay Nirupam urged Singh to disclose the names of AAP leaders involved in such activities.
Shiv Sena’s Nirupam further pressed Singh to expose the amount for which Arvind Kejriwal purportedly sold Rajya Sabha seats. BJP’s Tarun Chugh highlighted corruption claims against Kejriwal and Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, suggesting a deep-rooted corruption within AAP. Janata Dal-United’s Neeraj Kumar emphasized the need for evidence from Singh regarding his allegations, indicating a weakening foundation of the Aam Aadmi Party.
Rashtriya Janata Dal’s Manoj Jha and Congress’s Surendra Rajput criticized Singh for his silence on the matter, holding him accountable for the alleged wrongdoing. Congress accused AAP of taking bribes for seats while alleging that BJP engages in similar practices. Samajwadi Party’s Ashutosh Verma questioned Singh’s motives, implying his complicity in the AAP’s issues and suggesting a possible ulterior motive behind his recent accusations.
